Two timeless Swiss secrets will be “disclosed” on a special tour of Maestrani’s Chocolarium and a guided tour of the Appenzeller dairy. No pun intended!
A customised morning tour of Maestrani’s Chocolarium chocolate factory and taste the results after watching the chocolate being produced. At lunchtime, your culinary journey brings you to the Appenzell region for a guided tour of the Appenzeller dairy where you will also stop off for a delicious lunch of cheese pie and green salad.
As a take-home gift, you will receive 200 g of Appenzeller® cheese and 300 g of the finest Swiss chocolate.

On the trail of local specialities
Learn all about how Switzerland’s tastiest cheese is made on a guided tour of the Appenzell dairy and enjoy a variety of Appenzeller®cheeses immediately after at a cheese-tasting session. After transfer to Jakobsbad, a relaxing cable car lift-ride takes you up to an altitude of 1,663 metres. Upstairs, enjoy an excellent salad followed by Appenzeller Siedwurst sausage complete with cheesy Chääshörnli and apple sauce. To round off the experience, a trip to Appenzell will reveal the secret of Appenzeller Alpenbitter. You will learn more about this herbal liqueur on a guided tour in the production plant.

Our organic farmers Christina and Reto Preisig will bring you on a tour of the farm whose cows provide fresh organic milk for our Appenzeller® organic cheese every day. This is followed by a visit the Appenzeller dairy – with or without a guided tour.

Appenzeller pride
In Appenzellerland, traditions continue with great pride today and you too can be an honorary Appenzeller if you pitch in. As part of a team, prepare «Appenzeller Chäshörnli» – a feast of pasta with cheese an apple sauce – in the show dairy.
Fortified, you will set to work with your hands.
Following instructions from our master baker, make your own delicious gingerbread Biber dessert filled with honey and almond. And while the sweet speciality is turning golden brown in the oven, learn about traditional woodcraft with a visit to the wood-cooper who will also be on hand to assist you as you carve your own wooden board. After such productive day, you could almost pass for a local.
